| Large Paleo-Indian Discoidal Core from the Nuckolls site, located on the Cumberland River, in Western Tennessee. Three and one quarter inches in diameter by three inches. Excellent condition. Frison and Bradley (1980) have detailed the technology of Discoidal Cores at the Hanson Folsom site. In the East, Discoidal Cores have been recovered at the famous Adams site in Christian County Kentucky, as well as Donald Dragoos' Well Creek Crater site, also in Tennessee. In these writers' opinion Disc Cores were designed to yield large flakes from the circular flat face of the Core, much as in the manner of Levallois cores in France. Museum quality. Acquired by Joe Wright from the family farm, and then purchased by Gary Noel, member of the Archaeological Society of Ohio. | ||||||
