A delight in 18kt gold is the oh so popular Victorian serpent motif. I have seen women wear three on one hand!. Serpent rings were gifted for engagement and friendship. Here is a cheerful example as the serpent appears to be smiling. Why not, she ( my choice of gender) is a symbol of eternal bond and affection. This ring is particularly comfortable and graceful as the coils are spaced apart. You will find that your eyes travel to your finger in admiration. Size 6. Immaculate condition

From Great Britain and one of the finest enamel workers in London comes a textured 18kt and enamel horse and jockey pin. It is a remarkably crafted small sculpture that is three dimensional and stands on all fours. The form of the animal and the jockey's outfit are realistic right up to the dots on the rider's cap and shirt. Both sides of this brooch are exactly alike with the exception of the pin and safety clasp added to the reverse. The brooch is In perfect condition back and front with no loss whatsoever. The horse and jockey are in resting position. Reins are dropped. The horse, with one ear at attention, is waiting for cues from its rider. Both animal and rider are otherwise relaxed. Note the various textures used to create the mane, tail and body of the horse. England. c.1960 - 1970. This sculptural brooch is a perfect gift for a lover of horses. Measures approx. 1 5/16 head to tail, 1 1/8 in. hoof to ear.

The bloodstone spinning section of this gold engraved fob is sprinkled with red spots and is bevelled creating a higher center. This fob is handsome. Outstanding is more accurate as the repousee engraving on the gold and the proportion of the whole is beautiful indeed. The puffy engraving covers the gold other than the top suspension ring. Puffiness is accomplished by pushing the gold into design from the back. Multiple uses for a fob today are wearing one on a watch chain, suspending it on a chain creating a pendant, or attaching it to a charm bracelet. The condition is superb. English c. 1860-70

The detail here is superb. Inverted blue hearts or shields suspend urns of blue and white enamel drawn on 18kt gold. Small gold beads are applied to the top and to the lowest point of each triangle and can be seen from behind where the gold is not enameled. As urns often do, these have handles, here fashioned of twisted gold. Shepherds hooks hold the earrings securely in the ear. The weight is light and comfortable. Condition is immaculate.

Enlarging is a must! Beautiful as all Georgian chains are, we were thrilled to see the braided, entwined tightness and sturdiness of these 15kt gold textured links. Long chains were worn by men and women. Often worn dropping to the waist, doubled, and in combination with numerous other jewels, the wealthy added a large brooch, multiple rings and large earrings. The golden clasp on this chain is a jewel on its own. It is fashioned as a hand with a ruffled floral cuff set with natural turquoise. Turquoise, when natural, responds to the touch by changing to a darker tone. The stone touched most often during clasping shows the change, but the color difference is not as intense to the eye as it is to the camera. Condition is excellent

The architectural image of the sphinx is embossed all around a remarkable silver bangle. The amount of fine work done to create this bracelet makes it phenomenal. The fine quality of the above natural pearl and banded agate locket made me stop in my tracks when I glanced in a London shop window. The border glows with the luster of the pearls in their tiara settings of high carat gold. A large convex natural agate is set center as if on a pedestal. Victorians were passionate about nature and the use of natural materials is an example of that passion. They had the knack of cutting the banded stones in the way that made them unique jewels. The locket back calls for your keepsake making this pendant your personal treasure. The chain, offered separately, has been sold. Locket in Perfect Original Condition

Prisms of pique work were carefully incised with flower forms that then were filled with silver and gold. This is delicate work that was performed by artists in the latter quarter of the 19th century, c. 1870 most often in France or Russia. This art form was done for a short period of the Victorian era and as there is no fine reproduction today, These are medium length earrings, wearable and very light in weight. The condition is perfect.

Visually striking on the finger, this fine cameo is set in 18kt gold bezel with a 9kt shank. Psyche is finely carved from the white of the onyx and rises from the black background. This detailed miniature work was a talent of Italian jewelers. It amazes me how the carving is so delicate as to create hair on the head of a figure or drapes in clothing while bringing out one color only from the stone. Dating to 1870-80. Origin Italy. Excellent Condition

Sometimes a color can be felt within; have a visceral effect on one's mood. This bracelet lights a spark, a spark of hope, a taste of honey, sunshine, spring and rejuvenation. It is the mind body reaction to the delicious color and the cut of the rectangular citrines that wrap around the wrist accompanied with alternating links of 14kt gold and scrolls of gold around each chunky stone. Pure delight. The bracelet was made in the US around 1950's-1960's. The condition is excellent as is the wearability.

In beautiful form, tiny, larger and larger bits of steel were hand cut, hand faceted like a gemstone and then polished to design this cross without the benefit of electricity. This was an art form seen in shoe buckles in the 18th and 19th century and in 19th century jewelry. Extremely time-intensive and almost obsessive work went into the final jewel. Tiny holes were drilled into a form of this cross so that each bit of steel would be riveted in place in each hole. You can see the process by viewing the back of the cross, shown here. This pendant is in perfect condition. Made to sparkle in the existing candlelight, the sparkle remains to offer its brilliance today. English in Origin.
