The jewelry of the Edwardian period emphasized the femininity and elegance of women. These earrings, made c.1900, are sterling silver set with varied sizes of paste stones. Their central design elements are square ballet pink crystals which are balanced by two delicate curves of rose colored enamel. The pastes are set in closed back settings. The art of proportion, color and balance shine forth. Long sparkling earrings were just the accessory that added to a woman’s sense of style just as they do today. They are in perfect condition and induce you to dance the night away while feeling seductive and beautiful. C.1900 England.

This four stone diamond ring, both pretty and delicate, makes a beautiful statement for a petite woman who wants something different and not over powering. The ring is Edwardian and dates to c. 1900. The diamonds, well faceted, are sparkling old mine diamonds. Two stones are approximately a half carat each. The smaller stones are approximately .25 each. As the diamonds are deeply set and have not been removed from their prong settings, we may be underestimating their carat weight by .25 ct. One side of the 15k gold band curves up to a smaller diamond while the other side curves down to its diagonal opposite. The stones have no outstanding imperfections with the naked eye or loup. I estimate the color to be H/I. Currently size 7 1/2 and can easily be size

Beaming sunlike through wisps of gold filigree is a flame of citrine. Like points in an orbit, pearls surround the stone on all sides. This is a lacy pendant, too sizable to be termed delicate. Edwardian jewels were designed concurrently with the Art Nouveau movement and share some of its qualities. The designs scrolled, curved and curled have a naturalistic quality in which there is a sense of the jewelers' hand.

Voila, this bracelet, elegant and wearable, fills both pleasures, along with receiving a piece of jewelry just right for her taste. Four 18kt gold strands are made of small links for flexibility. The moonstone, the star of this ring, sends flashes of color to the eye reminiscent of moonglow. A three dimensional array of peach and blue moves over the stone's surface.. Light rays are refracted from the gem's interior making the stone seem magical. Gemologists call this quality aduralescensce. Four old mine diamonds, bright and shining are the north, south, east and west stars. The moonstone is about 2 cts in weight. The total weight of the diamonds is approximately .60-65 cts. The curved, smooth shank is 18kt gold. This ring is size 5 1/4 and can be sized. Folklore about moonstones is abundant. They have historically been thought to have magical powers. Moonstones are the stones of lovers who, it is believed, remain faithful, attain the power of passion and gain good fortune from the gem. All this is good and in this case beautiful.

Superb quality earrings designed with the flourish of garlands, have been made of foiled pastes in the manner and fine execution of Georgian and Victorian earrings. From the tiny pastes to the large teardrops, all stones were cut and polished then set like gemstones. No time was spared in the design of the silver which is rounded, pillow like and smooth. The brilliant pastes are the rare pink color that flatters all women. Paste this fine was an art form in earlier eras. The jeweler who made this pair of chandelier ear drops, knew jewelry history and had the desire to create and did create the same quality of hand work and stone setting that challenged jewelers at the beginning of the 19th century. Superb hand work was in line with the turn of the century. Think of the Art Nouveau movement which ran concurrently to the Edwardian esthetic. It was a movement that valued the hand's on art of the individual over machine made jewelry. Superb Condition.
