| The hallmarks of Georgian jewelry make this coral necklace a joy to wear. Each small bit of coral has been individually hand-carved. The color is a natural orange red. The touch is buttery soft. Miniscule facets are carved in the pineapple beads that divide the length of the sautoir into sections. Look closely, perhaps with a loup, and you will see that the tip of each coral bit has been carved into a rounded point, a detail that manufactured pieces do not include. Our jeweler has expertly restrung the entire necklace to assure its strength and endurance. No change from the original other than the stringing material has been made. The sautoir can be worn as a lariat, tied with a slipknot to be hung in the front of the bodice, worn as a tie on a shirt, or hanging from the back on a low-backed dress. It can be lushly wrapped as a choker as well. Our coral sautoir lends warmth that is contagious. It will quickly become a favorite accessory to an antique or modern jewelry collection. English, c. 1830. Length is 42 1/2 inches. | ||||||
