| We imagine that many touching memories come along with this georgian 18kt repousse wedding band that was cherished and carefully preserved in fine condition for over a period of 180 years. The ring is encrusted with flowers and leaves of varied shapes that wind completely around the circumference. The outer edges are softly scalloped to suggest the shapes of the flowers and leaves. Repousse , a method of working gold by punching, beating or pressing the designs out from the back of the jewel, removes no gold in the process. The texture of the design is varied with small pin dots and curving lines. When the correct flower is discovered and pressed, it opens a mysterious secret compartment on the inner circle of the ring. The date of marriage of the original owners is engraved inside the ring clearly showing 1829. English in origin. Size 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 Excellent condition | |||||
