| Not one but two Georgian gold and Garnet Bracelets each of which contains deep and lively wine colored, folied garnets set in a floral pattern. The bracelets have a cannetille and garnet clasp, an added touch of delicacy provided by the jeweler at a time when many hours devoted to making a piece of jewelry was the norm. The gold as been bloomed to a warm, radiant color that sings next to the garnets. Two bracelets on one wrist are striking. These are of a style delicate enough to wear in this manner. Georgian cut garnets differ from late Victorian stones. The colors are unique to the early 19th century. The stones are flat cut rather than faceted. They are foiled to enhance the glow of the red in a time when electric light was still unknown. The backs of the settings are enclosed in gold. These garnets are in perfect condition, as is the foiling. Length 7 inches, Height of garnet flower is 1 1/2 inch. Condition of bracelets is excellent. c.1820 | |||||
