This is the best example of Chinese Rose Medallion we have ever come across. The vase is very large and the workmanship on this large piece is fantastic. Look close at the images to appreciate the detailing in the robes, enamel colors, birds, insects, flowers, etc. The outer glaze on this old vase is lumpy and this character is easily seen in the images. The underside base is unfinished. The vase is in outstanding condition for a piece this large and old...

This if a fine large golden age cloisonne vase.It is done in Silver and gilded wires. The artist could be Honda or this could be an early Sosuke piece. I have had similar Sosuke pieces with Crows. I have also seen similar work by Sosuke to the work done on this vase between the panels. The vase stands 12 3/4 inches tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide. Condition is excellent.

This is a large and very fine Japanese Cloisonne Vase. It appears to a Meiji Era be piece from Ando. The vase has bronze rims and mounts. It stands 12 inches tall. There are some condition issues best seen in the last two images. Even so it is still a very rare piece that displays beautifully.

This is a rare wireless cloisonne tray. We believe the artist was Hattori because of the enamel on the back and that we have had signed Hattori wireless egret vases like this tray. The tray measures 6 1/2 inches across. There is some slight enamel damage to the top side that can be seen more clearly in the upper center of second image.

This is a beautiful 6 inch cloisonne enamel vase By Namikawa Sosuke. It is not signed but larger vases just like this one are signed by Sosuke. I have seen them and have the images. Condition is very good but under the top silver rim a tiny bit of U-shaped surface crazing can be seen.

This is a very fine pair of small Japanese Cloisonne Vases. There are finely detailed chickens on every side. They stand 6 inches tall so they are more detailed and impressive in hand. Usually on these finer pieces I have a pretty good idea who the artist is, but not with these vases. Hayashi, Miwa, Kinuken, Gonda,or Ota could have made these vases. Condition is outstanding, about the only thing of note is very faint line on the neck of one of the vases. It is tough to see without magnification.

This is a very finely painted Japanese Satsuma dish or Shallow bowl. The detail is so fine that one needs about 3-4x magnification to see it all. When looking at the images one would assume the piece is at least 12 inches across but it measures 9 1/2 inches. The earthenware form is heavy and it is stoutly made. It is signed Matsumoto Hozan and we believe it to be an early piece from this artist. Condition is excellent.

This is a finely detailed old Japanese Satsuma sake pot or small teapot. There is a lot of gold work on this piece and the separate scenes are interesting. The handle appears to be bronze and is very well made. It is decent a sized piece and measures 4 1/4 inches across at the spout and is 3 3/4 tall with out the handle. We are not sure of the artist because we could not see a signature. It could be under the old sticker attached to the bottom or maybe it is written on the labels...

This is an attractive Japanese cloisonne vase from a rarely seen artist, Hayashi Chuzo. It was acquired from the now deceased great antiques dealer, Joe Belperio. The vase features a flock of 13 finely rendered rock doves or pigeons. The vase stands 7 inches tall. In the last image a sliver/chip can be seen in the blown up image. It is not easy to notice and there are also several very faint lines. Even so it is still a great display piece from a fine artist.
