This is a very fine example of early Japanese Cloisonne made around 1880-1890. This workmanship looks very much like a Museum piece we looked when the Khalili exhibit was touring the country a few years back. The piece can be seen on page 62 in the book “ Splendors of Imperial Japan. The Khalili vase was attributed to Tsukamoto Kaisuke. The enamel quality is superb and the vase has a high sheen. This is a very fine Japanese Cloisonne Vase. The subject is rare and the workmanship shows great refinement on this superb piece. The enamel is nearly pit free and polished to a high sheen. The piece is unsigned but the ultra fine wire work in the scroll and dragonfly suggest Hayashi. The vase stands 7 inches tall and condition is excellent.

This is a beautiful Old Japanese celadon glazed censer or incense burner. It is similar in appearance to some of the fine Longquan celadon burners. We are not sure if it is old enough to be an antique but it is quite old as one can see by the wooden box. We were told it is signed by Seiji master porcelain artist Kato Keizan. The silver lid is heavy and exquisitely made. It stands 4 3/4 tall and 4 inches wide. Condition is excellent.

This is a very fine small Japanese cloisonne vase done in the style of early Namikawa cloisonne pieces. This vase like Namikawa works has butterflies, high sheen mottled enamels and gilt wires. Even so we believe it was probably made by Honda. This heavy piece stands 4 3/4 inches and the condition is nearly mint.

This is a rare example of an early pigeon blood cloisonne vase. It's also quite an attractive old piece. There is no embossed red translucent background like the common pieces but there is substantial amounts of silver wire and enamel work. The vase is also a unique wide shape being 7 1/4 tall and 4 1/2 inches wide. The rims are silver and unmarked. Condition is excellent with a small bit of discoloration in the translucent red enamel. This is shown in the images.

This is a fine Japanese Meiji Era Satsuma Koro or Jar. It is fitted with a beautiful and highly detailed silver lid shaped like a Chrysanthemum flower head. It a respectable sized piece being 5 inches wide and standinding 4 inches tall. The condition of this piece is excellent especially for this Gosu style of satsuma. There is a glazed over firing repair that was done at the factory during production of this piece. It can be seen along with the signature in the last two images...

This is a fine and unusual Japanese Cloisonne tray or plaque. It looks very much like some of the Sosuke piece we have seen and if so is a early piece.The rim is silver. Condition is good but the is a chip on the back and a few lines in the enamel if you look very close. It measures 9 by 9 inches.

This is one of the finer examples of a cloisonne wisteria vase that you will ever see. It is not signed but it is easy to see it was created by a great enamel artist like Goto. The vase is even more beautiful in person and the decorations wrap all the way around the piece. There is also a unique design to the bottom rim that we have not seen before. The rims are bronze. It has no condition issues but the old wood stand has been broken and glued. The vase stands 9 1/2 inches tall.

This is a beautiful rare and rather large Meiji Era piece of Japanese Cloisonne. The raised relief fish and water plants are beautifully done with wonderful detailing. It is signed on the underside but the symbols are very hard to read. Either way we think it was made by Kumeno. This is a fine Japanese satsuma cabinet vase signed by Yabu Meizan. The vase stands 4 3/4 inches tall and is 3 inches wide. The vase is in outstanding condition except for the gold mark underneath.
