This is a very fine and unusual example of Japanese cloisonne. The jar looks like it was made by Kumeno or Honda. The jar only stands 5 inches tall with the handle down so keep this in mind when looking at the over-sized images. The condition is excellent but like most of these old pieces there is some wear to the rims.

This is a stunning, extremely well done Japanese Cloisonne Vase. Unique ground color, is glossy soft brown. In the foreground is a Moriage Peony, branches and leaves. Exquisite enamel work and shading. On the back is a beautiful artistic butterfly. Light taupe counter enamel on the inner top rim, with brown matte counter enamel on the base. The vase stands 9 1/2" tall. Surprisingly, it is not signed, but clearly the work of Ando (Kawade Shibataro) or Hattori...

This if a fine large golden age cloisonne vase.It is done in Silver and gilded wires. The artist could be Honda or this could be an early Sosuke piece. I have had similar Sosuke pieces with Crows. I have also seen similar work by Sosuke to the work done on this vase between the panels. The vase stands 12 3/4 inches tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide. Condition is excellent.

This is a large and very fine Japanese Cloisonne Vase. It appears to a Meiji Era be piece from Ando. The vase has bronze rims and mounts. It stands 12 inches tall. There are some condition issues best seen in the last two images. Even so it is still a very rare piece that displays beautifully.

This is a rare wireless cloisonne tray. We believe the artist was Hattori because of the enamel on the back and that we have had signed Hattori wireless egret vases like this tray. The tray measures 6 1/2 inches across. There is some slight enamel damage to the top side that can be seen more clearly in the upper center of second image.

This is a beautiful 6 inch cloisonne enamel vase By Namikawa Sosuke. It is not signed but larger vases just like this one are signed by Sosuke. I have seen them and have the images. Condition is very good but under the top silver rim a tiny bit of U-shaped surface crazing can be seen.

This is a very fine pair of small Japanese Cloisonne Vases. There are finely detailed chickens on every side. They stand 6 inches tall so they are more detailed and impressive in hand. Usually on these finer pieces I have a pretty good idea who the artist is, but not with these vases. Hayashi, Miwa, Kinuken, Gonda,or Ota could have made these vases. Condition is outstanding, about the only thing of note is very faint line on the neck of one of the vases. It is tough to see without magnification.

This is an attractive Japanese cloisonne vase from a rarely seen artist, Hayashi Chuzo. It was acquired from the now deceased great antiques dealer, Joe Belperio. The vase features a flock of 13 finely rendered rock doves or pigeons. The vase stands 7 inches tall. In the last image a sliver/chip can be seen in the blown up image. It is not easy to notice and there are also several very faint lines. Even so it is still a great display piece from a fine artist.

This is a very fine early Japanese plique-a-jour bowl. The bowl measures 4 3/8 inches across and stands 2 1/4 inches tall. The bowl has two short lines in the yellow/red mums on the side that are hard to see. Look for them in the images. They can not be felt with a fingernail and are probably not all the way through. It is mounted with silver rims.

This is a fine turn of the century Japanese cloisonne enamel vase. The bird is very well done. I am not sure of the artist and it is not signed. The vase stands 6 inches. Condition is overall excellent but it does have what looks like a tiny hit that is barely noticeable.
