This is an attractive small cloisonne vase with a deep glossy translucent enamel. In person it is a little richer and deeper colored than the images show. This unique little vase is stoutly built and appears to be an early Namikawa Yasuyuki from the 1880's. It stands 4 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

This is a great example of Japanese Satsuma artistry. The bowl was made by Hankinzan. The bowl measures 5 inches across. It is an exceptional piece with extremely fine work. There are hundreds of detailed birds with white overglaze enamels.I believe was made with the thicker mercury fired gold.

This is a very rare and unique Japanese cloisonne box. It is not signed but it is a grade above most the works put out by Ando. The box also has a fine silver wire scroll at the rim edges and blue enamel tones used by Hayashi. The box measures 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches tall. Condition is good but there is a small fingernail sized flake to the enamel that has been filled on the underside and some scuffing.

This is a special Japanese cloisonne vase because it was designed with detailed figures of women and children. The vase looks more like a fine satsuma piece. In general the old figure vases done in cloisonne were on the weak side due to shading and design. Not this piece. Look close at the Parasols and robes. The vase stands 10 inches tall. It is in good condition and displays very well. But not prefect as it has some minor blemishes that are not easy to spot.

This is a fine four panel vase from Ota. The vase is a wonderful example from this artist. Unfortunately it is not perfect and the price reflects this. There is a good restoration in between the panels seen in the last two images. There are also some lines. The vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall.

This is a spectacular Japanese lacquer tray from the Meiji period. It is one of the better examples of lacquer work you could ever hope to come across. It is as finely painted as a great satsuma piece. We believe it to be the work of Shirayama Shosai (1853-1923), one of the greatest of all Japanese Lacquer Artists. It measures 13 1/4 inches by 9 ½ inches. The workmanship on the butterflies or moths is as exquisite of any detail you would see on the finest Satsuma pieces...

This is a beautiful Japanese cloisonne vase. Though not signed, the workmanship and colors clearly say Hayashi Kodenji. This same opinion is held by North America's leading cloisonne collector. The vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall. It appears perfect but there is a virtually invisible repair to the midnight blue enamel edge shown in the last image.

This is a rare and attractive Japanese cloisonne bowl from the late 1800's. We have never seen another like it. The three Phoenix birds on the outside are what make it so unusual. Condition is very good on this antique. The bowl is fairly heavy measuring 7 1/4 across and 3 1/4 tall. It is not signed but we believe this bowl was made by Ota.

This is a beautiful pair of trumpet form Japanese Cloisonne vases. These vases are done with a translucent (nagare-gusuri) enamel glaze. Both of these Meiji period vases are signed Hattori. Condition is outstanding. The vases stand just under 5 inches tall and are 3 1/4 across at the to rim. Finding two of these style vases in this condition is an extremely rare occurrence.
