This is a wonderful old Japanese Imari charger or tray. It is signed Fukagawa and was made before 1900. The crustacean characters on the piece are quite unique. It has a very old staple repair and this was probably done at least 100 years ago. It is a heavy stout piece and measures 15 1/2 inches across.

This is a great Japanese cloisonne bowl. We are quite confident the artist was Kumeno. The bowl while being very attractive does have some condition issues. There are lines and some slight enamel loss but it is still a dazzling display piece. The bowl measures 5 1/2 inches across and is 3 1/2 inches tall.

This is a very fine large Japanese Satsuma bowl made after after the Meiji Period. The bowl is profusely decorated with flowering plants and butterflies. This beautiful bowl really stands with all the gold and bright enamel colors. I was told that it is signed by "Kinsei". The bowl measures 8 5/8 inches across and 3 inches tall. There is some very slight discoloration but over all the condition is outstanding. The gold work is near perfect.

This is a very nice Meiji vase from Meizan. It has excellent gold detail and enameling. It is even finished off at the inner top rim area with fine white enamel beads. The work rivals that from the Yabu Meizan factory and it is believed that some of the Meizan artists went on to work for Yabu Meizan. This beautiful 5 inch piece has slight wear to the gold but overall is in outstanding condition.

This is a fine small cloisonne vase from Hayashi. It is not large but it is profusely decorated. The vase stands just under 5 inches tall and has silver rims. At one time there was another signature plaque on this vase with the Kinunken signature. It was removed to display the more desireable Hayashi Signature. At one time Kinunken sold Hayashi Kodenji pieces. The vase is in excellent condition.

A fabulous Japanese cloisonne vase purchased from the 1893 Chicago Exhibition. Inside the vase is an old decaying leaflet given to the buyers by the exhibitors. On a fragment one of the massive vases displayed by Suzuki can be seen on this paper (See image). There is more to this faded image on the reverse buy it is hard to see. The vase is one of the well known vases with the eagle finial. Every one of the Suziki pieces was approved by the Emperor for this exhibition. This vase is special...

This is a very unique Japanese cloisonne vase. The vase is a combination of wire and wireless enamel work, with birds flying over a body of water with a reflective moon. The form and the soft tonal enamel changes from top to bottom set this vase apart from others. The enamel is virtually pit free. Even the base has an odd enameled mark on it. The vase stands 9 3/4 inches and we are unsure of the artist. Condition is excellent but we found a 1/2 inch short surface line in the enamel.
