Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Tray Imperial Artist Hattori

This is a rare Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Tray from the Imperial artist Harttori Tadasaburo. The work has a Namikawa Sosuke look to it with beautiful enamel work and subtle tones. It stands on 4 Shakudo feet and is extremely heavy for the size. It is not profusely decorated and this may be because it actually was a piece made for the Emperor. Silver wire Hattori artist mark on the base. Outstanding condition, with some minor pitting around the feet on the under side. Large in size, it measures 14" long and is 8" wide.
