This Satsuma jar is a masterpiece of work and detail. I believe the gold was mercury fired because of the color and thickness. It is a lidded jar with impressed Kinkozan mark. It is unlike any Kinkozan piece we have ever seen and believe it is an early piece for this factory. The work is as fine as you will ever see, as good as Yabu meizan, Seikozan or Nakamura Baikei. Everywhere you look there is exquisite detailing. The jar overall in excellent condition with a minor blemish to the lid. It stands 5 1/2 inches tall.
