| This is a very unique well executed Japanese Meiji Era signed ivory rectangular box. It is soft yellow white aged ivory with a red chop mark in the top bottom corner of the lid. Beautiful ivory grains throughout. The lid is the masterpiece featuring very well done realistic Monkeys in various postures fighting and wrestling over a piece of relief fruit that one hold. They have expressive faces, realistic fur, teeth and black outlined eyes. It measures 8 1/4' long. Perfect condition on this very fine piece. | |||||||||
