Japanese wooden lacquer display table was used in temple.
Due to age the surface of the table was smoked by incense.

This brush-pot of scholar's item is decorated in relief with carved lacquer.
In the technique of embossed lacquer or Choshitsu, firstly lacquer is applied many times to make lacquer layer. Secondly, patterns are carved in to relief with chisel.
This brush-pot is carved multicolored layers, very hard and heavy.

Measurements about : 4" (10cm) tall and 3 3/4" (9.5cm) wide.
Weight about : 480 grams.
It is in excellent condition.

A pair of wooden lacquer cups, which are lined with silver, are decorated with gold and color make and mother-of-pearl on the black lacquer ground.

Rare and fine carved lacquer Senbai or Chago is in the shape of a lotus leaf with tortoise.
Japanese green tea Sencha tool Senbai is used in order to fill a teapot with tea leaves.
The lid of the old wooden box says "Tsuishu (Carved cinnabar lacquer) Senbai (scoop for green tea leaves)".

Measurements : 3 1/2" (9cm) x 1 3/4" (4.3cm) x H 1 1/4" (3.2cm)
It is in excellent condition and comes with old wooden box.

Japanese round-shaped kogo ( incense container ) is lacquered on the wooden base, finished as red lacquer on the outside, black lacquer on the inside and the base.

A heron watching its prey of gold makie on a Roiro (deep black) lacquer ground.
Signed artist name, read "Bairei", in red lacquer.
Date early 20th century.

Measurements : 10 7/8" (27.5 cm) by 10 7/8" (27.5 cm) and 1 5/8" (4.2 cm) height.
It is in good condition with two very small chips on the edge.

Japanese wooden lacquer Makie Suzuribako is in sets with Suzuri (ink stone) and metal Suiteki (water dropper).
This suzuribako is lacquered on the cloth-covered wooden base.
The decoration on the lid depicts spider with makie.
The edge of the lid is decorated with gold makie on the blackish-brown lacquer belt.

Measurements : 8 5/8" (22 cm) by 6 1/4" (15.8 cm) and 3 3/4" (9.4 cm) hight.
It is in good condition.
