He studied under Suga Shoen II (1898-1979), a master of lost-wax casting.

Signed artist name "Koseki" and sealed.
Nakanishi Koseki (1807-1884) studied under Oda Kaisen in Kyoto and gained a reputation as Nanga artist.

Japanese murashido bronze brush rest for scholar's desk is in the shape of curly lotus leaf and the two rain frogs on it.
Made by Shindo Shinzan, an artist of Sado Island Nigata Prefecture and active in the Meiji - Taisho era (late 19th to early 20th Century).
Artist mark "Shinzan" on the work.

Measurements about : 5" (12.8 cm) wide, 1 7/8" (4.7 cm) deep and 2" (5 cm) tall.
Weight about : 230 grams.

The body of this tray is made from natural root or trunk and has deep patina.
And the base of the tray is made from flat wood.
The inside and the base are covered with Japanese lacquer with great skill.
Date the early 20th century.

Signed artist name "Koseki" and sealed. Nakanishi Koseki (1807-1884), scholar artist, active in Kyoto from late Edo to early Meiji era.

Measurements about : 43" x 12" (109cm x 30.5cm),
Painted area : 9 7/8" x 8 1/4" (25cm x 21cm).
It is in good condition with some minor marks.

Ito Tozan I ( 1846 - 1920 ), a ceramic artist in Kyoto, was appointed to a member of the Imperial Arts and Crafts Experts in 1917.
The artist mark "Tozan" on the base.
The date between from the late 19th to the early 20th century.

He studied under Tsuda Shinobu (1875-1946) and was adopted by him.
He has be accepted the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Netten) many times and received grand prize in 1962.

Weight about : 790 grams.
Signed artist mark "Eiju" on the base and comes with original wooden box.
It is in good condition with minor small marks on the surface as seen in the last photo.

The Kannon Bosatsu seated image is carved from single piece of wood.
It would appears that is 11-headed Kannon (Juichimen Kannon), had ten faces on the top of its main face, and to be early Edo period, around the 17th century.
