Japanese wooden lacquer box is decorated with design of butterflies on the reddish-brown lacquer ground.
The main butterfly motif is made of gold Takamakie, inlaid mother-of-pearl and metal.
The interiors are covered with black lacquer. The rims are made of pewter.

Jungin (pure silver) mark on the base.

Gourd-shaped bronze vase of mottled murashido patina was made by Kobayashi Bishun.
Kobayashi Bishun (1887-1986) has be accepted at the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten) and received a number of awards.
Signed Bishun with a chiseled signature in the base.
