Japanese scholar art tobacco case is made with bamboo and wooden lid. Engraved four Kanji characters in a square says "En Nen Eki Jyu", the word wishes longevity. Signed Japanese classic calendar "Mizunoto-i syotou (The beginning of winter in 1863) " and artist name "Sanzan tou (carved)" with a chiseled signature on the base. Measurements (about) : 2 3/8" (6 cm) wide and 2 1/4" (5.7 cm) tall. It is in good condition. |
