Zen Buddhist painting features a hundred Darumas. The 4 kanji characters in the upper-left, "Hyaku ji nyo i", meaning "get everything one wants". Signed artist name "Jyokyo" and sealed. We have no information about the artist. Date early Showa period, early to mid 20th century. Measurements about : 76 3/8" x 19 1/4" (194cm x 49cm), Painted area : 44 1/2" x 14 1/2" (113cm x 36.8cm). Painted with ink and color on silk. The painting is in good condition. There are damages in the reverse mount top and original wooden box as seen in the photos. http://gotoantiques.com/ |
