Fine scroll painting tiger is painted with ink and color on silk. Signed artist name "Renzan Kishi Bunshin" and sealed. Kishi Renzan (1804 - 1859) was born in Kyoto and studied under Ganku. His artistic talent led him to succeed to Kishi school as adopted son of Ganku. Ganku (1749 - 1838) is the founder of Kishi school and particularly known for his picture of tiger. Measurements : 60" x 21 5/8" (152.5cm x 55cm). Painted area : 35 7/8" x 14 1/8" (91cm x 36cm). It is in good condition. http://gotoantiques.com/ |
