| This rare and outstanding example of Japanese modern cloisonne vase is decorated with wireless technique (Musen) with arabesque design on a black ground. Partry there are some wires which give the arabesque design snap. The ground is a deep black with a touch of navy blue. The rims of top and bottom, silver mounted. Ando mark, done in wire, on the bottom and Jungin (silver) mark on underside rim. Comes with original kiri-wood box, inscribed on the exterior of the lid "Shippo Kokuyu Karakusamon Kabin Ando Shippo-ten Zo" or Shippo Black Glaze Arabesque Design Flower Vase Ando Shippo produced. Measurements: 15 1/4" (38.5 cm) tall and 5 1/4" (13.2 cm) in diameter. It is in excellent condition. | |||||||||||||
