Interesting 19th century mourning ring, probably gutta percha, carved with the name “Elishea”, flanked on each side by a heart. Very poignant. Set in low or gold fill. This ring has definitely seen some wear: there are some small dents and nicks and it’s very dirty. Ring size 5 1/2".

Fabulous all original Georgian flat cut garnet luckenbooth, or witches heart, set in silver. A luckenbooth is a heart-shaped love token named after the Luckenbooths, or locked booths, where they were sold, in the Royal Mile near St. Giles Kirk in Edinburgh. The pins were exchanged by lovers at betrothal and later pinned to the first-born's shawl to protect it from evil spirits. Measures 3/4”.

Inscribed “In Memory of” in gold letters on the front (all letters are bright), it reads “My Beloved Papa/Died October 25th 1854/Aged 44 years”. Very good condition; three chips to black enamel. Fabulous 19th century cut steel pendant earrings, always so hard to find. Cut steel jewelry was meant to simulate diamonds; the “stones” were faceted polished steel. Each “stone” had a post in the back which was inserted into a metal base to form a multitude of designs. Great all-original condition. Measure 2 3/8” from top of wire to bottom.
