Spectacular and so-rare Iberian gold and emerald earrings, dating from the end of the 18th century or beginning of the 19th. Iberian earrings of this time grew out of the pendeloque style and consisted of three sections: a cluster surmount, a larger bow-like floral center, and a pear shaped drop. Each earring holds 38 emeralds. Wire hooks are a later conversion. Very good condition; wear commensurate with age. Measure 4 1/4”.

A phenomenal, early example of mourning hair work, featuring a landscape in blond and brown hair, set into a heart shaped silver brooch and surrounded by eighteen gorgeous table cut diamonds. Probably dating to 1780 (or possibly a little earlier) the scene is incredibly detailed, depicting an urn, tree, windmill, house and boat. The reverse is fabulous, featuring a beautiful glazed compartment containing blondish brown hair...

Rare and beautiful Georgian sentimental bracelet clasp, depicting a scene with a woman and a pavilion labeled “Friendship” amid a wooded landscape. The extraordinary thing about this piece is that this intricate scene is completely embroidered in different colors of hair! The artistry is incredible. This is one of the loveliest, most poignant Georgian memorials I’ve ever seen, commemorating the death of a child! An angel and a child rise through the sky, the angel pointing toward heaven. The artistry and balance of the composition is amazing; the angel has dark wings and dress and protectively surrounds the sweet child, dressed all in white. They rise heavenward in a blue sky with dark clouds – all elements are beautifully balanced...
