Charming 19th century portrait miniature in watercolor on ivory of a young girl, set in a gilt metal brooch and pendant swivel frame. The girl has auburn curls and wears an elaborate bonnet with green ribbons. The frame features a bow decorating the bottom edge. A few condition issues; some fading to paint, especially around the girl’s mouth; clasp has been replaced with a safety catch, and the glass reverse, which covers black silk, is cracked. Measures 1 7/8’ by 1 1/2”.

A beautiful Victorian demi parure, a both classic and unusual example, comprising earrings and a brooch. The design is classic Victorian with floral, butterfly and scroll motifs; each piece suspends a small gold ball. What’s unusual is that, though the set appears to be gold on silver, the base tests at 14 carat; along with enamel decorations, the gold is treated to look dark silver. The attention to detail is amazing: the centers of each piece are textured and the edges carved...

Delightful Victorian paste and silver pendant necklace. The top section features a paste florette flanked by scrolls, suspending a baroque pearl. The bottom section, hanging from two chains, comprises a paste set scrolled panel suspending three pretty pink tear-shaped stones. The chain is set with tiny pastes as well. Very good condition. Measures 18”.

Exceptional 19th century articulated earrings, probably tortoise shell and probably intended for mourning. The design is charming: a flower-like disc is suspended from an arched cathedral top. What makes these so unusual is the fact that they are very delicately painted: little green and white dots on the disc, and red, gold and white above. There’s wear to the paint but, it’s a lovely touch. Measure 2 1/4” from hook to tip.

Gorgeous 18th century gold and flat cut garnet circular brooch comprising 23 beautiful foiled stones. Some inclusions, chipping and scratching to stones visible with a 10x loupe, but overall a superb piece. Measures 1” in diameter.

Fabulous 19th century Austro-Hungarian Renaissance Revival brooch, featuring garnets, emeralds, turquoises and pearls in an elaborate gilt metal setting. Very good condition; the emerald have lots of inclusions and crazing, typical of stones used in jewelry of this style. There are marks on the pin stem, but they are worn. Measures 1 3/16” in diameter.

This is one of the loveliest, most poignant Georgian memorials I’ve ever seen, commemorating the death of a child! An angel and a child rise through the sky, the angel pointing toward heaven. The artistry and balance of the composition is amazing; the angel has dark wings and dress and protectively surrounds the sweet child, dressed all in white. They rise heavenward in a blue sky with dark clouds – all elements are beautifully balanced...
