|An outstanding Georgian navette mourning ring, in sepia and watercolor on ivory, circa 1790. It features a pink-cheeked lady leaning on an anchor and gazing out at a ship at sea ? perhaps mourning a lover lost at sea, or merely a symbol (the anchor) of hope! The ring tests at 14-15 carat gold; a pretty rose gold with bright cut scalloped bezel. Inscribed ?FRBC? on the reverse. Very good condition: original crystal is scratched. Size 10 shank is slightly out of round. Head measures 1 1/8? by 5/8?.|
