| Wonderful original Nathaniel Currier hand painted mourning print lithograph, dated 1848. The print features a grieving woman leaning on a tomb; there are other graves, most tilting, and a church in the background. The tomb reads: To The/Memory Of/A mother and Sister/Susanna Bartlett/Died Dec 31st 1848/Aged 65/Charlotte Bartlett/Died Oct 5th 1848/Aged 30.” “To The Memory Of” is part of the print; the rest is hand lettered. The signature line reads: “Lith & Pub by N Currier 2 Spruce St NY”. The Currier factory resided on 2 Spruce Street from 1838-1866. Very good condition; slight faded of hand lettering. Sight size 8 ¾” by 13”; framed 16 ½” by 12 ¾”. Original wood veneer frame in good shape with just a few losses to the veneer in the corners. Backing is slightly loose. | |||||||||||
