| Very nice miniature portrait of a handsome gentleman wearing a black coat and a white stock, by the Irish artist, Adam Buck (1759-1833). Older brother of artist Frederick Buck, he was probably the better artist of the two! From Ireland he went to London, where he exhibited at the Royal Academy. Watercolor on card. Gilded composition frame. Good condition: a few dark specks on his face; frame is quite worn and chipped. Measures 8” by 7”; sight size is 4 7/8” by 3 7/8”. | ||||||
