| Portrait miniature in watercolor on ivory of a lady, by Irish artist James Reily (fl.1750-1788). The lady wears a grey dress with a white lace collar; her accessories features a lavender sash, a brooch (possible an aquamarine) and a strand of pearls at her corsage, a bright blue cloak, and a matching blue ribbon in her hair. The portrait is signed and dated on the obverse: “IR/ 1761”. Set in gilt mount with twisted border, the reverse with a brooch clasp. Condition is good: there’s a little dirt under the glass. Measures 1 11/16". | ||||||
