| A charming English School portrait miniature on ivory of a little girl, circa 1780. She’s dressed in a white frock with a pink ribbon waistband, and wears a necklace, drop earrings, and a blue ribbon in her hair. She holds a pink rose, and the expression created by her big blue eyes and small mouth and chin is one of sweetness and whimsy! She’s set in a chased foliate gilt-metal swivel mount, the reverse with a brooch-clasp attachment. Measures 1 3/4”. She’s in very good condition; there’s no sign of any damage, restoration or mold. There is a deposit on the underside of the glass at approximately 5 o'clock; also, the gilt metal mount is worn and scratched, and the swivel doesn't work properly. | ||||||
