This black and white vase, called "Bianca Nera", is one of Dino Martens signature design. It was developed in 1954 for Aureliano Toso. This miniature paperweight vase represents the most appealing techniques employed by Archimede Seguso, the ancient Muranese Calcedonio Glass. Masses of green and yellow, colored paste glass resembling the mineral calcedony float in clear with fumed gold. An example may be found in "Fifties Glass" by Leslie Pina on page 58. A rare and unusual piece. This little vase is 3.5" high and 3.5" in diameter. It has some small cracks and scratches on the base.
