Wonderful, large and very unusual silver and blue stone bracelet from Taxco Mexico. Signed TC-46, this is the Taxco registration mark for silversmith Rufina Castrejon Alcantara, as documented in the Morrill/Berk book "Mexican Silver".
There are fifteen large emerald cut blue stones in this bracelet. Most likely lab-created stones, and they are sapphire blue color. The closure is a tongue in box, with one of the gemstones on the tongue part, so that when the bracelet is closed it's an almost seamless effect. Pressing down on the stone releases the clasp. This is something you'll see only on the highest quality Mexican pieces. The back of each link is open where the stone sits, so that light is reflected and the true color shows beautifully.
Measures a closed, wearable length of 7 1/4", a width of 1", and a depth of 5/16". The original safety chain is 2 1/2".
The weight is substantial 152 grams.
Signed and hallmarked "Sterling Taxco 925", and "TC-26.
In excellent vintage condition.
