| This stunning New England winter scene watercolor painting by Denise Patchell Olson, measures 22.5" x 17" (32" x 26" with frame). Condition is very good............. Denise Patchell-Olson was graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in Advertising Art and Design. She began her professional career in the early 1970s in the medium of watercolors. Her technique has developed from simple transparent washes to the rich colors and brilliant use of light and shadow that is easily apparent in her work today. Inspiration for her paintings is collected from her travels throughout historic New England as well as parts of the Midwest and South. Yet her paintings speak to both the reality and fantasy that is the American small town. Her studio is located in a pine-wooded area in Southwest New Hampshire where a bubbling trout stream passes a mere fifty feet away - a true artist's paradise! Patchell-Olson exhibits at outdoor art festivals and is represented in over 75 galleries and shops in New England, the Northeast, Midwest and South. Her paintings are prominent in many collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Most of Patchell-Olson's work is highlighted by the presence of a small red cardinal, a sign of joyfulness, which her paintings certainly evince. Also, all clocks are set at two o'clock, the hour when she and her husband Frans were married. | ||
