| This lot of three aqua Chinese Peking glass plates each measures just under 8 1/4". The color is the vibrant aqua that the Chinese mastered so well in this art form. There are minor rubbing and tiny chips on the edges of each. Since every antique should have a story, here is the one I have created for these. Kowloon, Hong Kong was always a floating slum crowned with beautiful, cool ivied mansions. Jiao Bian Bai lived in one of those mansions. His mother Lee Syiang, collected beautiful things from throughout her travels across Asia selling her signature cosmetics. Jiao wanted to find his mother something special and beautiful for her birthday. He decided on a dozen Peking glass plates in her favorite colors. The three that were aqua, these plates, came to him along with the inheritance of a million wonderful memories of his mother. | |||||
