| This extraordinary example of Art Nouveau, bought in France about thirty years ago, depicts a very lovely lady with a Viking-like headdress which is executed in a beaten, copper headdress with embedded glass "jewels". With only the slightest bit of loss to the headdress, this marvelous collage of paint, metal and glass is on a 12 38" diameter wooden plaque. There is a monogram signature which appears to be CM to the left (to our right in the picture) if the figure. Executed around the turn of the Nineteenth Century, this is a very impressive and important piece. | ||||||||
