On carved wooden stand, restorations, but in good condition. 8" x 14" not including hand carved wooden stand. Ex: Charterhouse collection. Charterhouse is one of Britain's oldest and most distinguished public schools founded in 1612 by Thomas Sutton.

Large painted Pottery Model of a Lion, Tang Dynasty (618-907 C.E.) Seated on its haunches with a teeth-baring expression on face. Covered with white slip and traces of pigment remaining. Bulbous eyes carved in deep relief. Teeth and fangs are defined as is tongue. Wide nostrils, mane in cascading detail on the back with tail curled around lower body. Nails on both paws clearly defined. This is a wonderful, intact piece, large (16 2/8 in.) and expressive features. In excellent condition.

Yuan Dynasty Pottery Amber Glazed Utilitarian Jar, China (1279-13680) Tan and brown splashed glaze falling irregularly to the lower rim to expose the original terracotta. Shoulder decorated with four stylized Foo Dog handles molded in high relief. Sides of mouths open for the insertion of loose ring handles. Short neck with everted rim. Piece is in excellent condition 9" high.
