A Cypriot Pottery Zoomorphic Avian Juglet, Late Iron Ave, 8th Century BCE. In form of duck or bird with line painting across side and back. On tripod legs with head as spout of juglet. 5 1/4" H x 6 1/4" L x 3 3/4" w. Intact and in excellent condition. Ex: Robert Deutsch collection, Tel Aviv. Cyprus draws influence from many nations. During the Archaic period, Assyria, Egypt, and Persia (lands located along the fertile crescent) demonstrated their influence on pottery by introducing the "Free Field Style", an expressive technique that focuses on the depiction of agriculture.
