Luristan Miniature Bronze of a Saddled Horse
Splendid Lurisan Bronze of a Saddled Horse, Ancient Iran, ca. 1000 - 800 BCE. Small bulbous eyes, flowing mane and tail and standing on four legs. Beautiful patina from age and intact and on custom stand. 2" high x 3" long. Ex: Mayor Teddy Kollek, First Mayor of Unified Jerusalem. For a long time, Iran was an important center of metalworking in the ancient world. Luristan bronze ware covers a wide range of categories: functional and religious, ceremonial and ritual objects, personal decorations, ornaments, and various vessels.
