| Cypriot Pottery Bull, ca. 1550-1200 BCE. This vessel from the collection of Teddy Kollek, first mayor of unified Jerusalem, has a handle and openings in the mouth and on the neck. It is Cypriot and belongs to the grouping of "Base Ring-ware" dated to the 14th BCE. As is characteristic of figurines of this group, the eyes are applied and thinly ringed. Original design on the body of the bull still clearly visible. This vessel atests to the vast amount of trade between Canaan and Cyprus during the Late Bronze Age (1500-1200 BCE). 5 1/2" in height and in excellent condition. | |||||||||
