| Cypriot Bichrome Pottery Amphora, Iron Age Cypro-Archaic Period(750-600 B.C.). Handles extending from rim to shoulder, bichrome wear design. The painted decoration is geometric with alternating bands of color and concentric circles on the neck and shoulder. Excellent condition with some wear to paint. 12 inches high. Cyprus draws influence from many nations. During the Archaic period, Assyria, Egypt, and Persia (lands located along the fertile crescent) demonstrated their influence on pottery by introducing the "Free Field Style", an expressive technique that focuses on the depiction of agriculture. | ||
