| From the Negev Desert, this handmade Bedouin Textile Headdress, ca. 1900, with brilliant colors once belonging to a group generally applied to Arab nomadic pastoralist groups found in the desert belt. Seven Maria Theresa coins dated 1780 adorn the hat. In excellent condition. Negev Bedouin are formerly nomadic and later also semi-nomadic Arabs who live by rearing livestock in the deserts of southern Israel. The community is traditional and conservative, with a well-defined value system that directs and monitors behavior and interpersonal relations. | ||
