This is a superb table lamp in the style of a classic Architectural Column. Apparently this was once a French Oil Lamp from the early to mid 1800's, that was converted into an electrified table lamp in the 1900's.
The top of the lamp bears the following French inscription: " Ramier & Cie 5 Rue Bonaparte, Paris " and the plinth base has a small plaque that reads: " Lampe a moderateur par brevet d invention et de perfectionnement ". The lamp has a handsome look with its two tone finish and finely cast detail. The capital appears to be an Acanthus leaf pattern and the base of the column is surrounded with a leaf and berry wreath. Very nice and perfect for a library, office or your favorite Architect. Make sure to look at our other table lamps we currently have available.
