This sketchbook contains 20 pages of drawings with multiple images per page by Chinese- Canadian-American artist David WU Ject-Key (1890-1968) born in Chang Shang, Guandong province in 1890, moving with his family of scholars to Canada. He went to study at the Royal Academy of Canada in Montreal before moving to New York and studying at the Grand Central School of Art, the Art Students League where he studied drawing and anatomy under George Bridgman a well respected and published teacher who recognized David's talents, taking him under his wing and making him an assistant teacher. To further his mastery he spent a short stint at Medical School not to become a doctor but rather to study anatomy first hand. This sketchbook demonstrates his mastery of drawing and the many sketches around the edge of the pages are masterworks in themselves by describing with minimal strokes the models body including facial recognition which is extremely difficult on such a small scale. The value of his works are increasing rapidly in the 20th Century Chinese Art auctions in Hong Kong at Sotheby's and Christies reaching a record prices during the 2010-2013 sessions. Her is a chance to acquire a body of works by this artist
