Antique Chinese 3th rank Leopard Female badge, circa 1850. Worn on the back of the pufu, this badge would have been worn by the wife or mother of the official. It features Peking Knot, or Forbidden Stitch, and the background is a very fine and rare example this artistry.
This badge is very similar to one featured in, Ladder to the Clouds, by Beverley Jackson and David Hugus. It was created at the same workshop as the badge on page 140.
