This is an early brocade-woven lady’s court vest. The woven brocade depicts four-clawed dragons and a celestial scene. There are lattice woven tassels on the bottom, some of which are missing. The warp threads have been broken down but it is completely stabilized. Circa 1820 This item is featured in the book, Threads of Gold: Chinese Textiles from Ming to Ch’ing.
