This early Meiji brushpot, circa 1890, mounted on a modern walnut base. Featuring a finely carved depiction of Japanese figures drinking sake under a beautiful cherry blossom tree, painted in gold lacquer. It is signed with a seal that reads “SOMEI” or “SOTETSU.”
