Beautiful bright cut tea urn, Gale & Willis, New York City (c. 1859), 16" tall to top of finial, 13-1/4" tall to top of handle, 10-1/2" long across handles, 4-7/16" diameter of circular base, 4-1/8" long spout, urn-shaped body on round pedestal foot with beading around edge, pierced circles and diamonds on neck of pedestal, circular base sits on four cast 2 5/8" acanthus leaf-shaped legs with round shell-shaped feet, large cast handles on each side of body, removable spirit lamp with full unused wick, removable circular domed cover with beading around edge and large acorn finial on top, fabulous bright cut engraving over entire body and cover, oval bright cut leaf cartouche on front and back with Old English monogram "HFT" in front cartouche, marked underneath "GALE & WILLIS" "447 BROOME STREET" "NEW YORK" "925 STERLING" with an 1859 date stamp, all incuse.
