| These Ittobori dolls have been exquisitely hand carved and painted from a single piece of wood. The deeply devoted couple Jo and Uba, depicted here as noh performers, are raking and collecting pine needles. As she sweeps away all sorrow and ill fortune, Jo takes care to rake in the blessings of the past. Wonderful attention to detail can be seen in the masks, rake, broom and kimono.
