| Wide strips of bamboo inserted diagonally into a hexagonal-plaited support structure contribute to the dynamic composition of this early to mid-1900’s ikebana basket. Narrow strips have been randomly woven between the slats and then extended and manipulated to form the rim. The rope-like handle was created by wrapping and overlapping thin strips of bamboo.
