Rare Edo Japanese maki-e lacquered 'Hibachi' (brazier)
Description: A superb quality "maki-e" Hibachi (brazier) decorated in raised gold and silver lacquer on a sprinkled "nashiji" ground depicting leaves and plants. Gilt copper recessed handles and original copper liner. Date: Edo period: early 19th century Size: 8" high, 11" wide. Excellent condition.
