Description: TAKEDA NINGYO: A rare doll depicting a figure from Kabuki theatre, possibly 'Soga no Goro' from the play 'Yanone'(Arrowhead) holding a large arrow and striking a very dramatic pose.Takeda Ningyo are a type of costume doll taking their inspiration from Edo Kabuki theatre. Date: Edo period: Early 19th century Condition: Excellent condition. Notes: It is very difficult today to find large dolls of this quality in such fine condition. Size: 19" x 15" x 10"
