Large Incised Stoneware Jar-Old Silla Period, 4th-6th C
A Large Incised Stoneware Jar-Old Silla Period, 4th-6th C.: Korea, Old Silla Kingdom period, 5th-6th century, This is a stoneware with natural ash glaze and incised comb patterns on the neck between two double lines, its typical blackish grey color was produced in a reduction atmosphere. Some parts are covered with a rich ash glaze in and out. The fine comb-wave pattern is exquisitely incised, and the open work base was done perfectly balanced. It has a chip on the base (see photos) and a hairline crack on the mouth rim, otherwise its in fine condition. Measures: 15 high and 15 diameter
